La regla de 5 al día que mejorará tu vida 

     Tanto si has seguido el reto como si no, todos estamos aquí por una razón, queremos comer limpio y sano. Aunque ya hablamos de la regla 80/20, el 80 sigue siendo nuestro objetivo. Ya sabes lo que dicen, una manzana al día mantiene alejado al médico, pues bien, resulta que no es (del todo) mentira. Según estudios recientes, comer 2 raciones de fruta y 3 de verdura al día ayuda a la longevidad. Y aunque no hay una “receta” para una vida más larga, esto se acerca bastante a una. 

     Como hemos hablado antes, y probablemente todos los profesores te lo han dicho, las frutas y las verduras son ESENCIALES para nuestra nutrición y funcionamiento. Especialmente las verduras de hoja verde como las espinacas, la lechuga, la col rizada, y las frutas ricas en beta-caroteno, como las zanahorias, los cítricos y las bayas. Y adivina qué, a tu intestino le encantan alimentos como los pepinos, los rábanos, los espárragos, la col, el brócoli y la coliflor. Algunos consejos para incorporarlos a tu vida diaria son 

  • Comer manzanas, plátanos, melocotones o mandarinas entre las comidas como tentempiés. 
  • Prueba a tomar apio, zanahoria o pimientos con salsas, como el hummus, el tzatziki o las que aparecen en nuestro blog. 
  • Las ensaladas premezcladas son fáciles de comer y no son excusa para saltarse las verduras.
  • Añade verduras a tus comidas precocinadas, como un omelette. 

     Pero no te detengas en cinco, si quieres seguir comiendo más, adelante. Recuerda que cuanto más “cruda” sea tu comida, más nutrientes estarás aportando a tu cuerpo. El hecho de que haya pruebas de que estos alargan tu vida es una razón para comerlos más a menudo, aprende a enamorarte de esta nueva forma de cocinar. Elige la comida lenta siempre. The 5-a-day mix rule will make your life better

     Whether you followed the challenge or not, we’re all here for one reason, we want to eat clean and healthy. Even though we already talked about the 80/20 rule, the 80 is still our goal. You know what they say, an apple a day keeps a doctor away, well, turns out it’s not (quite) a lie. According to recent studies, eating 2 servings of fruit and 3 of vegetables, a day, will help with longevity. And although there’s no ‘recipe’ for a longer life, this comes pretty close to one. 

     As we’ve talked about before, and probably every teacher has told you this, fruits and vegetables are ESSENTIAL to out nutrition and functioning. Especially leafy-green vegetables such as spinach, lettuce, kale, and fruits rich in beta-carotene, like carrots, citrus, and berries. And guess what, you gut loves foods such as cucumbers, radish, asparagus, cabbage, broccoli, and cauliflower. A few tips to incorporate these into your everyday life are: 

  • Eating apples, bananas, peaches, or tangerines in between meals as snacks. 
  • Try having celery, carrot or peppers with dips, such as hummus, tzatziki, or the ones in our blog. 
  • Premixed saladas are easy to eat and they are no excuses to skip veggies.
  • Add vegetables to your pre-existing foods, like an omelette. 

     Don’t stop at five though, if you want to keep eating more, be our guest. Remember that the more “raw” your food is, the more nutrients you are getting into your body. The fact that there is evidence these elongate your life is a reason to eat them more often, learn to fall in love with this new way of cooking. Choose slow food always.
