It’s so colorful I want to eat it!

I know… Who can resist a candy? Especially when they are appealing to the eye, full of colors so irresistible to eat. But I think most of us don’t know everything behind these eye-appealing candies, for us and for our children.

That’s why it’s important to know that most of these candies are made with red dye 40. What’s so bad about it? Why can it be so bad? It looks so delicious.

Let me tell you a little bit. Red dye 40 is banned in several parts of Europe and there is a reason for that. This type of dye has different reactions in the human body, especially in our children’s bodies, such as severe allergic reactions, hyperactivity, kidney tumors, nerve cell development and brain cancer.

In itself, all artificial colorants are related to the development of cancer, tumors, hyperactivity, liver and kidney conditions, allergies, asthma, etc. Not only that, but they are also related to behavioral disorders: irritability, lack of concentration, restlessness and sleep problems.

Although sweets are delicious and often difficult to avoid, we should always try to teach our children to eat clean and healthy. We can find many delicious and much more beneficial recipes, with much less risk to our health.
