     ¿No te encanta cuando pruebas una comida nueva y te empieza a arder la boca 3 segundos después de pasártela? Porque a mí sí, y no, no soy una psicópata, sólo soy mexicana. Pero este “sufrimiento” no es sólo por gusto. En realidad viene con un montón de beneficios, y versatilidad. Se pueden utilizar solos, como salsa, molidos en especias, a la parrilla, o como elemento para rellenar. Así que puede parecer difícil incorporarlas a tu dieta, pero intentarlo no sólo te ayudará a elevar tus platos, sino que te mostrará una nueva variedad de sabores y beneficios.

     Estas frutas, sí frutas, tienen un componente activo llamado capsaicina que es lo que causa el picante en los pimientos, y se mide en la escala Scoville. Este componente ayuda a aliviar temporalmente los dolores menores y los dolores articulares asociados a la artritis, el dolor de espalda y los esguinces. Los pimientos tienen efectos anticancerígenos, analgésicos, antiinflamatorios y antimicrobianos. Pueden ayudar con la congestión, pueden dar una sensación de satisfacción, ayudando a consumir menos calorías, ya que son ricos en carbohidratos, fibra, proteínas y vitaminas A, B1, B2, B6.
